Very few people were living with dishonesty.

But the person, who was dishonest or was taking bribe, did not have courage to tell about his taking bribe, openly to others. he was not boasting about it to other society members , rather he was hiding the fact that he was taking bribe.

Dishonesty was considered to a very bad thing and people would not give respect to the person who was taking bribe/or the money earned by unfair means.
People would not feel proud in keeping relation with such dishonest people. So this was the situation in the past times.

The Indian society and the Indian political leaders were having strong character.

People of India would vote to real honest candidates in general elections.

Gradually the situation changed and the candidates started taking help of gundas in elections for winning the seat.

The political party had to search the candidates who can win in the elections. So all the political parties started selecting such candidates who can win a seat for them.

The situation worsened further when such gundas themselves started fighting elections and were winning with unfair means.

Now coming to the point, whether it is Kalmadi or anybody else, 99% elected people are corrupt. So they are all dishonest and are surrounded by such dishonest people. They do not fear and are not ashamed of their unfair means for earning money.

So we should not be surprised if Kalmadi ends up in hospital.

Now we should think what we want? Do we want to eliminate/minimize the corruption?

Certainly the answer is yes. So we should not let the corrupt system run away Kalmadi.

We all the citizen of democratic India should keep an eye what is going on and should force through democratic means like protesting and raising voice against corrupt /illegal means adopted by the system or the politicians.

We may attract and force the government to take strict action against Kalmadi so that he may not be set free.

In fact Kalmadi is not the only one who should be punished but there are many others who should be trialed and should be punished according to law of courts.

What one can do to regularly keep an eye on such corrupted persons in the society?

We can join hands with ‘India Against Corruption Movement’ and should give our opinion through such type of forum.

By expressing our opinion we can support and keep an eye on the corruption.

These days internet is a very strong means for reaching to a large number of people very fast.

Remember, ”CORRUPTION NOT ONLY STIFLES GROWTH,IT ALSO PERPETUATES INEQUALITY AS A FEW MASS POWER AND WEALTH AT THE EXPENSE OF MANY.SO LET US ABOLISH IT FROM ROOT.”

A Delhi-centric Games without regional involvement? At least 30% of tickets for the opening ceremony have been reserved for VIPs and VVIPs. Where is Bharat in this national pride? The format of the opening ceremony still not finalized? The signature tune has just been unveiled, but the Rs 70 crore floating aerostat is not certain and the central stage is yet to be built.

The Chinese were practicing the Olympics opening ceremony two years ahead. Nothing done to forestall the cyclical outbreak of dengue? It will peak in October. The Village on the Yamuna's floodplains will be vulnerable. Several participating countries have issued alerts. Outsourcing crucial aspects of the Games to foreigners at the expense of local talent including highly dubious sponsorship, baton relay deals?

Perhaps to keep crony kickbacks outside the purview of Indian taxmen? India Inc and MNCs shying from sponsorships; PSUs rethinking commitments? The failure to stem bad public manners — spitting, littering and urinating?

Beijing's Spiritual Civilization Steering Committee successfully instilled civic sense in the city's inhabitants ahead of the 2008 Olympics. This is the state of affairs. Imagine where our much vaunted national pride would be if: once again, India wins only a handful of medals?

Potential home advantage does not exist because self-serving sports administrators have rarely nurtured India's sporting talent and infrastructure. In contrast, the Chinese withdrew from international competitions for more than a decade to develop home-grown sporting prowess, then modestly tested its mettle from the 1988 Seoul Olympics on. star (white) athletes continue to heed, lemming-like, the call of iconic Australian swimmer Dawn Fraser to pull out because of "lies" regarding the quality of venues and the possibility of another Munich?

A "world-class" venue structure collapses? Laggardly security arrangements allow a terrorist strike and inadequate quality control of catering forces embassies to import food for their athletes?

Empty grandstands flash up on worldwide TV? So far, just 20,000 of the overseas allocation of 1.7 lakh tickets have sold so far. And Delhi's residents display no visible interest in the event.

The 'worst ever' Games are in the offing. Matching Australia or South Africa is a pipe dream. Given the organizational disaster, a vortex of mishaps and glitches is inevitable. They will receive worldwide coverage. The objective of showcasing an emerging Asian power on the world stage is set to self-destruct.

Of late, the surreal optimism about hosting the "best ever" Games has given way to doing "our best". At last, there is implicit acknowledgement that an ignominious fortnight is on the cards. It is time to cut our losses.

The bottom line is that a systemic, nationwide malaise has been exposed. It could be a catalyst for declaring independence from incompetence, corruption and the arrogance embedded in DNA of the ruling class. Postponing the Games will give unambiguous notice to the tainted to Quit India.

It would be a non-violent Dandi moment for the aam admi. It would be a fitting homage to Gandhi's birth anniversary is October 2. And in the spirit of his values, Delhi's citizens could be forgiven for hoisting the national flag and writing to their elected representatives to declare: "We will not take it any more."

Karunaa Nidhi Fasting - must watch

First time in the world history fasting only 4 hours and that too with an AC …….

Oh you know it costs more to store the food than it does to give it away.

Legendary songster Bob Dylan sang these words in 'Slow Train Coming', in 1979. Over a quarter of a century later, in 2006, Indian economist Arvind Virmani concluded pretty much the same thing in a paper he wrote for the Planning Commission.

Though not quite as lyrical as Dylan's words, Dr. Virmani's several pages of facts, figures, and analysis allow one conclusion to ring out clearly - our current food and fertiliser subsidies are doing a horrible job of serving the poor. If we wound up these two subsidies, and gave the same amount of money away every year, it would be enough, not just to tackle their hunger, but to lift all the poor in the country above the poverty line. If we added to this governmental expenditure on welfare programs under the heads 'Rural Development', 'Welfare of SC, ST and OBCs', and 'Social Security and Welfare', there would be as much money all over again; perhaps, Dr. Virmani suggested, this could be used to pay for the government's administration costs and system leakages.

Subsidies and welfare programs alone cost us twice as much money as required to eliminate poverty completely. And then there's NREGA. Yet, poverty persists: in writing the conclusions above, Virmani estimated that 30% of Indians lived below the poverty line. Every year, we spend twice as much money as should be required to keep all of India's poor out of poverty. Yet less than 1% actually cross this 'rekha' every year, whether through welfare measures, employment or other means of material advance. Clearly, Rajiv Gandhi was being hugely charitable to the Indian government

when he famously said that 15% of the money meant for the poor reached them.

Now that the Indian government's fiscal deficit has become a matter of concern, one of the expenditure heads that is being questioned is the food subsidy. To better target the recipients of subsidised grain, government agencies have been talking about introducing smart cards, which would carry coded information about the card-holder of the card and his entitlement of subsidised grain, sugar, kerosene and other essential items. This technological fix, it is hoped, will reduce the leakage from the system.

Madhya Pradesh had run a pilot project based on a smart card concept in 2009, but found it unsuccessful. Press reports suggest that shopkeepers were reluctant to use the machines provided. Now the state intends to achieve similar objectives by linking the Unique Identification project to food coupons. This poor UID project - even before it has been birthed, it is being loaded with all manner of expectations. According to Wikipedia, it is believed it will help address everything from rigged elections to "widespread embezzlement that affects subsidies and poverty alleviation programs such as NREGA." Not to mention, illegal immigration and terrorist threats.

Wow, I'll have 1200 million of those please!

Hey, but wasn't the Right To Information Act supposed to solve the problems of embezzlement and corruption? That was UPA Mark I. The UID is UPA Mark II - new, improved, and tech-savvy.

Forget it. Technology is no cure for corruption. The Indian Railways has been there, done that. The computerised railway ticketing system was supposed to eliminate touts and black-marketing in railway travel. When seats are aplenty, the system is a treat. But at the first hint of a rush, seats disappear. During the holiday season, tatkal tickets disappear before the first home-user can log in. But contact a reservations clerk at the originating station, and the same ticket is produced -- for a service premium over and above the tatkal premium.

Technology, in other words, can be fixed. And will be, in an environment where the stakes are high, the ethical milieu supports it, and the guilty are never brought to book. Leakages are a political and cultural phenomenon, not a technological one.

In his paper, Dr. Virmani mentioned that he had proposed a smart card to streamline the PDS in 2001. At the time of his writing, no state government had taken it up, "as it had the potential of dramatically reducing leakages and administrative costs". The under-stated implication is clear - state governments didn't want to reduce leakages and administrative costs.

You're welcome to believe that the nature of our governance has drastically changed since then. I don't.

Price hike only hurts common man, and helps politicians to catch some limelight.

The person who declared the price hike is a politician, and he is directly effecting us.The person, who is opposing price hike, his deeds were appreciable, but "Bharat Bandh" could never have been the correct way to do it.

Poor people who works on daily wages, hardly earns to buy his needs. With the price hike,he is badle effected but by "Bharat Bandh", you also snatched his today's earnings.

There should be a proper thought over way to oppose a govt. issue, that too it should not increase problem in life of a common man.

Bus bandh, train bandh, airplane bandh, naukri bandh...this could mean 'food bandh' for the day for some poor families.

Riots and breaking the public property, again directly impacts the public and not anybody else.

Why always, way of protest has to be "Bharat Bandh" when it has more disadvantages over advantages.

There can be other ways to oppose as:
-Politicians will not use vehicle that day, oppose the Govt. by not using facilities given by Govt.
-Politician will have fast- remember Gandhi ji's Satyagrah and will arrange for non-stop food supply for a day for poor people
-Politicians will buy grocery and sell it to poor people at half rate on that day
-That day, respective politicians of the city will pay the commuting rent for the Common man going for work.
-Following the footstep of Lal Bahadur Shashtri, Politicians will boycott grocery shopping and will open a non-stop food service for poor people.

Price Hike should be opposed in a manner where the responsible Govt should feel ashamed and common man has nothing to loose but benefited.

Bharat Bandh - Naukri Band- Income bandh

If you want to do something good for common man, then it should not be on common man's expense.

With India's coastal security already breached by terrorists in Mumbai, Defence Minister A K Antony on Wednesday warned the armed forces of possible terror attacks from airborne platforms similar to the 9/11 attacks in the US.

Antony asked them to be prepared to counter the threat of terrorists from the air and prevent a repeat of World Trade Centre-type of attacks carried out by the Al Qaeda [Images].

At a meeting with the three Services chief and Defence officials, Antony called for greater coordination among all security and intelligence agencies so as to make the intelligence inputs actionable.

The meeting, attended by Navy chief Admiral Sureesh Mehta, Air Chief Marshal Fali Homi Major and Army chief General Deepak Kapoor and Defence Secretary Vijay Singh [Images], also reviewed the situation along the Line of Control [Images] (LoC) with Pakistan in the wake of reports that its army was on a 'high alert' following the Mumbai terror attacks [Images].

Antony, sources said, worked out measures with the armed forces for tightening security and vigil along the LoC to prevent infiltration of terrorists through the land route, as 'Pakistan-occupied Kashmir is known to be an important area for recruitment and training of terrorists'.

The top defence brass discussed plans for beefing up coastal security and hastening acquisition process for systems and platforms, including coastal radars and interceptor boats.

Of particular concern expressed at the meeting was the intelligence warning that airports around the country could be targets of terrorists, forcing the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security to issue a red alert to secure all important airports, sources added.

Though it was pointed out that intelligence agencies issued regular warnings just before important dates such as the Ayodhya complex demolition anniversary on December 6 and Republic Day on January 26, Defence Ministry sources said Antony asked the forces, particularly the Air Force, to be more vigilant to prevent any such threat.

Antony was particularly unhappy over the lack of coordination among various agencies, both defence and intelligence, so that the inputs from the latter could become actionable.

He expressed his dismay over the armed forces, particularly the Navy and the Coast Guard, not seeking specific details from intelligence agencies when they had warned about terror attacks through the sea route.

"The gaps existed from both sides of the security apparatus, be it the defence forces or the intelligence agencies. So, both must seek clarifications on points, warnings raised by the other and ensure the inputs are actionable so as not to be caught sleeping when Mumbai-type attacks take place," Defence Ministry officials said.

During the security review of the LoC, sources said they discussed the problems of infiltration by terrorists from across the border, both through the land and sea routes.

With all points leading to the POK as the recruiting ground for terrorists targeting India and credible reports of training camps functioning there coming out, the minister assured the armed forces of making available all resources, be it personnel or equipment, to plug the holes in the border.

Similar assurances were given by Antony on the sea front too and his keenly discussing immediate acquisitions for coastal security indicated the serious intent in this regard, sources said.

"Greater vigil is required along the LoC, the coastal areas and in the third dimension. The country cannot afford laxity in any of the dimensions," sources said.

The crucial meeting has come a day after the Cabinet Committee on Security chalked out plans for enhancing internal security through a variety of measures, including tough laws and establishment of a federal agency, to deal with terror attacks.

Antony has already held discussions with Navy chief Admiral Sureesh Mehta on steps to prevent recurrence of such attacks from the sea and strengthening of coastal security on Monday.

When the security forces were fighting the terrorists to rescue hostages and securing the important landmarks of Mumbai, the Minister had called a couple of top-notch meetings in the South Block's war room last weekend too in connection with the security breach.

Recession- India continues growth

Here are few news articles about the topic

IMF slashes India’s 2009 growth to 6.3%
Its estimate for India’s growth in 2009 is now 6.3%, 0.6 percentage points lower than its earlier estimate of 6.9% made just a month ago
Christopher Swann / Bloomberg

Washington: The International Monetary Fund, or IMF, predicted lower growth in India and economic contractions in the US, Japan and euro region next year, calling for further interest rate cuts and fiscal stimulus.

Its estimate for India’s growth in 2009 is now 6.3%, 0.6 percentage points lower than its earlier estimate of 6.9% made just a month ago. And its estimate for the country’s growth in 2008 is down 0.1 percentage points to 7.8%.

Also See Losing Steam (PDF)
An economist said India could grow faster than IMF’s estimate. “Growth next year will definitely be slower than this year, but it may still touch 7%. New oil refineries coming up next year will also boost GDP (gross domestic product). I agree with IMF that growth momentum will slow further, but it may pick up towards the end of next year,” said Dharmakirti Joshi, principal economist with credit rating agency Crisil Ltd. Joshi’s estimate of growth this year is 7.5%.

“Markets have entered a vicious cycle of asset de-leveraging, price declines and investor redemptions,” IMF said in an update to its World Economic Outlook report, released in Washington on Thursday. “Global action to support financial markets and provide further fiscal stimulus and monetary easing can help limit the decline in world growth.”

The revisions reflect a further choking-off of credit to companies and businesses in the past month. The Bank of England on Thursday declared the most serious banking “disruption” in almost a century, cutting its benchmark interest rate to the lowest level since 1955.

US gross domestic product will contract 0.7%, Japan’s will shrink 0.2% and the euro area’s 0.5% in 2009, IMF said on Thursday in Washington. The fund last month foresaw 0.1% US growth, with expansions of 0.5% in Japan and 0.2% in the euro zone.

Global growth will be 2.2% next year, down from 3.7% this year, IMF said. The fund said in its semiannual World Economic Outlook report on 7 October that world GDP would rise 3% in 2009. As recently as July, IMF economists expected a 3.9% expansion.
IMF has said that a growth rate of 3% or less is “equivalent to a global recession”.
Growth in the US “will suffer as households respond to depreciating real and financial assets and tightening financial conditions,” IMF said. In Japan, “growth from net exports is expected to decline”. The 15-nation euro region will be “hard hit” by the slowdown, the fund said.

IMF also warned on Thursday of growing risks of deflationary conditions in advanced economies.

“There is a clear need for additional macroeconomic stimulus relative to what has been announced thus far,” the fund said. “Room to ease monetary policy should be exploited, especially now that inflation concerns have moderated.”

As the credit crunch widens, the reversal in major developed countries is spreading to poorer nations, increasing demand for IMF loans.

In emerging and developing countries, GDP in 2009 will increase 5.1%, less than the 6.1 % expansion the fund predicted in October. China’s growth will measure 8.5% next year, weaker than the 9.3% forecast a month ago.

Since the fund produced its forecast in October, the outlook for developing countries has deteriorated as investors shunned their currencies and bonds, sending borrowing costs climbing.

India’s stock market and currency are both down. The benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange has fallen 52.02% since January and the rupee has lost 17.42% against the dollar in the same period.

Mint’s Asit Ranjan Mishra contributed to this story.

More on it

IMF predicts seven per cent growth for India in 2009
The global slowdown will affect India too, but with a projected growth rate coming down to a "still strong" seven per cent in 2009, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) sees the Indian economy continuing to perform well.

"There is some impact from tighter global liquidity conditions, but again we don't see major drag from this impact on India," a senior IMF official said on Wednesday. "So overall, we see the Indian economy continuing to perform well."

"Like all other countries, India will be affected by the global slowdown," said Charles Collyns, deputy director of the IMF's Research Department, at a press conference on its World Economic Outlook (WEO) released ahead of the annual meetings of the IMF and the World Bank here.

Noting that IMF was projecting the growth in India will come down from 8 per cent in 2008 to 7 per cent in 2009 he said: "But 7 per cent is still a strong rate of growth.

"That reflects the fact that India is still largely a closed economy, has strong internal growth dynamics, from rapid productivity growth, from its process of integration into the global economy that is still continuing," Collyns said.

Asked if the IMF has considered pushing countries like China and India to stop subsidising fuel prices to lessen demand, Olivier Blanchard, economic counsellor and director, said: "We're not in favour of long-lasting subsidies. However, we understand the desirability of having domestic prices adjust to world prices over time."

The WEO projects India's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is likely to slowdown to 7.9 per cent in 2008 and slide further to 6.9 per cent in the next year. India recorded a GDP growth of 9.8 per cent in 2006 and 9.3 per cent in 2007.

"In India, growth in the second quarter came down to about 8 per cent, on the back of weakening investment," the report said, adding private consumption and export, however, continued to do well.

For Asia as a whole, the report said, economic growth rate was likely to slip to 7.7 per cent in 2008 and 7.1 per cent the next year in 2009.

The financial markets have weakened in recent months, driven by increasing concerns about the global outlook and declining investor risk appetite, particularly in the context of the September market turbulence.

Having experienced the largest run-up in prices during 2005-07 when prices more than quadrupled in China and tripled in India, the equity markets in Asia have declined, the report noted.

Underlying inflation pressures rose across emerging Asia in recent quarters. Wage increases, despite productivity improvements, have contributed to a buildup in inflation in some cases. In part owing to a rapid expansion of bank loans, house prices have continued to trend upward, it said.

In India, CPI inflation jumped to 9 per cent in August. Underlying inflation pressures have increased, as high resource utilisation and robust credit growth have created fertile ground for second-round effects. Insufficient policy tightening has also contributed.

Although increases in food and fuel prices may continue to subside in the coming months and growth will moderate, inflation is expected to remain at elevated rates over the near term, the WEO said.

The IMF said a major policy dilemma for Asia is how to respond to the weakening growth outlook and global financial turbulence, without losing sight of inflation risks.

Although there is considerable divergence in country circumstances, downside risks to growth in emerging Asia have risen in recent months, while inflation risks have moderated as food and oil prices came down from the peaks observed earlier in the year, it said.

More on it

Report predicts US decline, rise of India, China, Brazil
The global trends review, produced by the National Intelligence Council, the United States' leading intelligence organisation, makes for some sobering reading for the Barack Obama [Images] administration which will take over in January 2009.

The latest report, produced every four years, predicts that the era of US's lone ranger style domination over the globe is over as we head into an increasingly fragmented world.

The report, 'Global Trends 2025: A world transformed', warns that the spread of American style democracy and capitalism cannot anymore be taken for granted anymore.

'In the wake of the 2008 global financial crisis, the State's role in the economy may be gaining more appeal throughout the world,' the report predicts, and cites the examples of Russia [Images] and China where 'wealth is moving not just from the West to the East but concentrating more under State control'.

Simultaneously, the United States will cease to retain its pre-eminence and become more of a 'first among equals', it says. In a fragmented world, the only way for the US to get its way will be through the support of strong partnerships.

Interestingly, only four years ago, as George Bush [Images] got ready for a second term as US president, the NIC report had forecast 'continuing American dominance'.

The downturn in America's fortunes benefits emerging economies such as China, India and Brazil [Images]. Interestingly, the European Union will also be on the wane, and lose clout by 2025, the report forecasts.

It is not all hosannahs for India in the report, however. Terming it as a 'complicated rise', the report says over the next 15-20 years Indian leaders will strive for a multi-polar international system, with New Delhi [Images] as one of the poles, and serving as a political and cultural bridge between a rising China and the US.

India will probably continue to enjoy relatively good economic growth, the report predicts, despite its lingering deficiencies in domestic infrastructure, skilled labour, and energy production.

What will propel India's economic growth are its rapidly expanding middle class, youthful population, reduced reliance on agriculture, and high domestic savings and interest rates.

At the same time, the report warns, while India's impressive economic growth over the last 15 years has reduced the number of people in absolute poverty, the growing gap between the rich and the poor will become an important political issue.

While regional and ethnic insurgencies will persist, the report says India's unity will not be threatened.

Hindu Terrorism ? Is that what it is?

Six Hindus have been arrested and charged concerning the bombings that killed five people in western India last month. Police investigating the two attacks on September 29 said the members were part of a group of extremist Hindus with links to the youth wing of the nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), India's main opposition party.

Not like to go in every detail about it as many news articles are on net if someone wants to read about it.

Ok! everybody knows a Sadhvi and a Army person is said to be involved in the bomb blast. And they are Hindu and so called 'Hindu Terrorism'

We never heard a word like "Muslim Terrorism" ,what is this about "Hindu Terrorism"?

It has been three to four decades since when we are hearing about Terrorism in India : Punjab, Kashmir, Delhi, Mumbai, Assam,Bangalore,Gujarat. Who can defend that those bomb blast were done by Muslims.

At the time of Babri Masjiz, many hindus reacted back and that was when all the things got worse.

Godhra! delt very wrongly by Lallu Yadav as he wanted to kick off Shri Modi for it , he then blamed Mr.Modi to provoke Hindus and support in terrorizing Muslims.

Now the Malegaon Blast, done by Hindus is creating a big havoc

What is common in all these is, "Reaction by Hindus". When something happens Politicians, reporters, news papers are filled with news of condemning it or searching for who did it and who is after it?

When Hindu reacted, everyone is just pissed off. Why?

Why is Hindu Terrorism wrong? Why can't Hindus react for something which has been going wrong from decades? Are Hindus just made to bear what all happens to them?

We strongly feel Hindu do have a right to react and trying to keep themselves safe.

The people who are arrested should be released as they didn't do anything wrong. If Police and Politicians were able to find the real terrorist and make India safer for Hindus, none of the Hindu will have to go and do a bomb blast.

The thing which comes in mind here is, there have been thousands of bomb blast and hardly anybody gets caught or even if they get caught, bomb blast never stops, which states, Police and Politicians never reach the real people but then a single bomb blast by Hindus and everybody is caught!??

Don't it points to something lacking in Police in convicting other terrorist, the non-hindu terrorist? Why Politicians just didn't condemn the bomb blast and forgotten it as they do other bomb blast?

Recently there have been few good movies which state the current status of mind and thought , must watch movies "A Wednesday" and "Shoot at Sight"

What you say about it? If Hindus react to all what had been going from decades is it wrong?

Salutes to the Army Person, who thought of performing his duty to India/Indians safe not all on Indian Border but also in city like Mumbai.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://bforbharat.blogspot.com/2008/11/hindu-terrorism-is-that-what-it-is.html' title='Hindu Terrorism ?

<marquee scrolldelay=160>Please Sign petition for demanding justice in Satyendra Dubey case</marquee>

Before being selected for Indian Engineering Services(IES), India's top engineering bureaucracy, Dubey use to work at the Ministry of Surface Transport in Delhi.

Then once he called Police when some one offered him bribe.

He joined, National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) in July 2002.

Aurangabad-Barachatti section of National Highway 1 (The Grand Trunk Road), was part of the Golden Quadrilateral (GQ) Corridor Project, Dubey was working as the Assistant Project Manager at Koderma, Jharkhand. This highway under Prime Minister Road project aimed to connect the metros of the country by four-lane limited-access highways totalling 14,000 km, at an overall cost more than USD 10 billion.

While working on the Project, he made the contractor re-build six kilometers of under-quality road and that was a towering loss to road contract mafia. Also he got the contractor to suspend three engineers as they were responsible for financial irregularities.

He discovered that the firm, Larsen and Toubro, which originally got the contract for GQ, was subcontracting the work to low-technology groups(controlled by the local mafia).

He reported it to his boss,NHAI Project Director SK Soni and to Brig Satish Kapoor, in writing but there was no action taken.

Satyendra was receiving several threats for the actions he was taking against corruption at Koderma. This has also being revealed in the FIR launched after his murder. In a FIR filed by CBI regarding the same case,CBI named both Soni and Kapoor.

As people didn't appreciate his effort to stop corruption in NHAI project, he was transferred to Gaya in August 2003.

Though he didn't stop there and took a Departmental test and now qualified for Deputy General Manager and so was eligible to work as Project Director. And he was expected to take this job at NHAI project.

Many people didn't wanted him there and they could have easily gone to a extent to murder him.

Its not only the people who didn't wanted him to report corruption, but there are bigger flaws in it. He wrote a letter to then Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari and requested to keep it as a secret as the letter claimed many high official names, but the letter was directed to "Ministry of Road transport".

What will we like to call it? How can this mis-handling be done at PM's office?
And as was expected, Satyendra was rebuked by vigilance of NHAI for contacting PM directly.

We hear a lot of protocols to be followed at office. We are only allowed to contact just superiors to us, but what when these superiors are to be complained about? How to inform others there incompatibilities, corruptions and other problems.

Satyendra was shot, while on his way back home in a Rickshaw, from Gaya Railway Station on 27th November 2003.

The case was handed to CBI:
-CBI got the Rickshaw puller as he stole the cell of Shri Satyendra.

Now comes the real watch time stories(nothing better to say then this)
After investigating the Rickshaw puller, CBI came to a conclusion that he is not involved except in the Cell phone theft and released him and to everybodies surprise, he is missing since then. Did this statement, really surprised you? He could have been the eye witness.Instead of taking him in custody or providing protection,he was just left on his own.It raises a question..is CBI really that smart? Can we trust on CBI's capability? Even a kid could have come up with the importance of that Rickshaw puller but CBI didn't.And where were Fastest news channels of India then?

Sheonath Sah and Mukendra Paswan, two suspects, were found dead from poisoning on February 1, 2004 and then it had been only 25hours of CBI questioning. Though Sheonath Sah's father reported FIR against CBI and Bihar police ,but CBI Director Umashanker Mishra declared the deaths a suicide. Now the question is: If it was a suicide, how these suspects managed to get poison while in custody? When inquiries for Satyendra Muder Case was taking months how CBI reached to the conclusion that it was suicide in just few days? And where were Fastest news channels of India then?

CBI charged four persons on September 3, 2004. Are we reading it right.. Sep 3,2004. It took CBI 10 months from actual incident to conclude? Again the same question is CBI capable?

If we read further, there will be no doubt that CBI is not capable to handle any case, as CBI concluded Satyendra's murder was a attempt of Robbery.

Did CBI really worked on the case? Did CBI didn't understand the importance of Satyendra's letter to PM or his action against corruption or is this only a public's views because even a dumber reading the murder can connect these things.

And this is not all, here is more amazing things to come about the case.

Suspects fools CBI and escapes. This is not new for this case.

It has been six years now and still CBI could not punish the culprits and above all they escape, and who do CBI think are escaping , oh yes the robbers!! (as Satyendra was shot dead by robbers),Isn't it?

Not even CBI, we have India's news channels, which always claim to bring new first, fast and conclusions to cases and whatever it takes they present the real news....Did media also could not figure out the mystery?

We will not say that media didn't play any responsible role at all,it did. But it was then and role played is not a aim succeded. Media works on a hot wok. After a while, when IITians, who played a big role in getting petition signed ,slowly and gradually there are few on the finger to talk about it.

Satyendra has not received justice. Why IITians, media stopped trying?
Who started the Petition for Satyendra? Do they even read, what people comment? Here are some comments by people who signed petitions and we can really be sure the one who started the petition is dedicated and trying hard to get justice for Satyendra:

One woman is molested every 13 minutes in India. These statistics refer to the reported cases. Whereas, if the unreported cases were to be included, it would be a matter of seconds- rather than minutes.

Investigation of most cases are not reported by victims because of various reasons such as family pressures, the police, the unreasonably long and unjust process and application of law; and the resulting consequences thereof.

Agreed, at times Rape cases have had significant victories, but after a wait time of decades. How do you justify that? Those long years, women has to go under the pressure of those moments again and again, humiliation and pain.

They say, time is the best remedy, but was this Court case time a remedy for the women?

And how justified it is that the rapist is enjoying his life for decades after he raped a women.

In took 10years for the final verdict in Mr.K.PS.Gill and he was fined 2.5lacs. Case started in 1988 and ended in 1998.

There have been some historical judgments also for Rape cases in India, just a glimpse:
-In 1974 a case was filed against two guilty Policemen as they raped a sixteen year old tribal girl in the compound of Desai Ganj Police station in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra.Mathura, the victim, was accused of being a liar and supportive statements where made that the girl was ‘habituated to sexual intercourse’ her consent was voluntary; under the circumstances only sexual intercourse could be proved and not rape.
-One more addition to such judgment gems is the case of Mohd.Habib, where the victim was seven year old girl and her ruptured hymen and the bite marks on her body don't state anything as there where no marks or injury on Mohd.Habib penis which was presumed as a indication of no resistance.
-High Court Judge are expected to be literate yet they make such decision which are unbelievable as was the case of Bhanwari Devi, the judge remarked that the victim could not have been raped since she was a dalit while the accused hailed from an upper caste- who would not stoop to sexual relations with a dalit.
-A case from Kerala, where a sixteen year old was lured for a good job offer and then sold to the clients and forced to work as prostitute for about a year and a half. When she filed case, the case was dismissed saying that if some one is paying for sex
with a women, the person will never pay for the one who is not ready for it.

Many more jewels to the crown.

In a country where so many Women Politicians are working, uncountable number of Women organisations, still Rape is the hottest crime in India.

With a women CM's though but Delhi tops the list of rapes in India, just read the article, this was the case 4yrs back Delhi: The Rape Capital of India.

There are many women hostels which supply the girls to the politicians, minor girls too. Many women jails are accused of the same.

We don't ask what measure women organisations are taking,as they have never ending list to it, we want to know ,what result were achieved by them?

As soon as a person is accused on molestation or rape, in next few hours he gets the bail.

Culprits caught are bailed or shifted to hospitals for treatment and then they are announced missing.

What are the actual working rules??
-We propose to end the bail in case of rape cases.
-Special Court should be assigned the case, to finish the case in less then 6months time else strict actions should be taken against the Judge and Advocates.

How many women forget Indian men,are aware of these rules:
Provisions of the Indian Penal Code:
In cases where the accused sexually harasses or insults the modesty of a woman by way of either- obscene acts or songs or-by means of words, gesture, or acts intended to insult the modesty of a woman, he shall be punished under Sections.294 and 509 respectively.

Under Sec.294 the obscene act or song must cause annoyance.

Though annoyance is an important ingredient of this offence, it being associated with the mental condition, has often to be inferred from proved facts. However, another important ingredient of this offence is that the obscene acts or songs must be committed or sung in or near any public place.

Section.509 of IPC, comes into effect when there is an intention to insult the modesty of any woman by the offender by uttering any word, making any sound or gesture or by exhibiting any object, with the intention that such word or such sound be heard, or that such gesture or object be seen by such a woman,or by intruding upon the privacy of such a woman.

Forget the Citizen, how many policemen are aware of the above rules and how many implement them?

Main state under the influence are Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Andra Pradesh.

Do you see something common in all the States? Its Poverty and Unemployment.

People need money to feed their family and themselves, but these states are not that successful in providing the same.

When someone is hungry, he can't think about right and wrong, he just knows that he need money by hook or by crook. And there is how a Naxalite is born.

Government says there are taking measure to control Naxalites.

These statement itself means a statement just to pass on the issue... "Indian Prime Minister, Manmahon Singh appealed all the affected state administrations in the meantime, to empower police forces to fight the Naxal menace with improved efficiency, indicating that the past responses to Naxal attacks have been inadequate."

No body can control them until Poverty is controlled. Once people will be employed they can see better opportunities then only they can think that they need not risk there life to earn daily needs.

These states are so rich and if proper planning is done, these could be richest also, but then planning and implementation needs to free from Corruption.

Chhatisgarh, wood work can bring crores to the State. Even I tried to contact the CM, Chhatisgarh. And told him the prospects those wood work export can do to the State, but I never got a reply.

Assam, we don't even have to say about the Tea Industry. How much tea can we export from there? How much foreing currency that state can earn?

Jharkhand, is I think the richest in natural resources among all states in India, but one more in list of neglected States.

We cannot control Naxalites till we provide proper jobs.

What are the steps Government is taking?

If there are no step to improve job condition then all steps by government are just for show.

When you can think Privatization, globalisation why not implement these more in these neglected and naxalites effected States?

If we get a chance, we will like Naxalites to contact us and we may plan out how people can earn more there.

I once met a Taxi Driver in Kolkatta, he was from Jharkhand. And he told , Residents of Jharkhand, support Naxalites, as because of them the Government School teachers performs their duties, coming in time, taking class, teaching students etc . Before the Naxalites interventions Teachers were there, school was there, students were there but no studies, as teachers use to come when they want and without taking there lectures they will leave.

We suggest, Government, Social agencies, to contact Naxalites and tell them how economic condition of states can be improved.

And implement the export business. What can be a better example then China, how you can earn and change a country, can't we change these six states?

Bring business in the States now.

We request all NGO,who are working in these states to declares themselves here. Come with plan and then lets implement.

Lets fight Poverty and eradicate naxalism.

Who are the Naxalites?
The Naxalites are left-wing extremists who take their name from Naxalbari, a village in the state of West Bengal where they first staged an uprising in 1967.

The most affected Chattisgarh state has witnessed one of the worst ever massacres on 17 July when armed Naxalites attacked the Errabore Relief Camp in Dantewada district, killing some 30 unarmed civilians and injuring scores. The attackers have abducted more than 45 people in that fateful night. Later, the Naxalites have reportedly released some hostages and killed another six including security personnel. All the six hostages killed later were surrendered Naxalites, according to the police.

Why were the tribals who are part of the government sponsored anti-Naxal campaign (Salwa Judum) were left unarmed against their powerful attackers in that fateful night?

SALWA JUDUM: ARMING TRIBAL AGAINST TRIBAL!

The anti-Naxal campaign backed by the authority in the state, known as Salwa Judum, initiated almost a year ago without much success. Over 300 people have been killed by Naxalites in Chattisgarh in the aftermath of the Salwa Judum campaign.

The Union Minister for Tribal Affairs P R Kyndiah has a similar viewpoint on the ongoing state sponsored anti Naxal campaign. He called for a review of the Salwa Judum campaign as it was “turning into a fratricidal war.” Kyndiah said that the strategy of the government, has been leading to a “fratricidal war, as tribal villagers were being used to kill the insurgents, who too are tribals.”

SPREADING TENTACLES
The Naxals are reportedly planning to spread to Assam and Gujarat to focus on the urban centers instead of earlier practice of rural operations. Some recently seized Naxal literatures indicated that Naxalites have already established zonal committees in some of these areas in a bid to intensify the movement across the country.

According to Home Affairs Annual Report 2005-6, 76 districts in the 9 States of Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Orissa, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal are badly affected by Naxal violence though in varying degrees. Nevertheless, unofficially 13 states, including targeted, are affected. Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat are coming under the Naxalite affected map. Kerala can be considered a targeted state, as no incidents reported in the last one year.

How do the Naxalites operate?
The Naxalites recruit and, in some cases, coerce new fighters to join their armed struggle. Their followers use small arms and homemade explosives, including landmines, according to a Human Rights Watch report. They raise funds through extortion or by setting up parallel administrations to collect taxes in rural areas where local governments and the Indian state appear absent.

Do the Naxalites pose a major threat to Indian security?
In April 2006, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh called the Naxalite threat the “biggest internal security challenge ever faced by our country.”

Although more than 740 people died in Naxalite-related violence in 2006, almost twice as many lives were claimed in relation to the territorial dispute over Kashmir.

Does India have an antiterror law?
No. When Singh took control of Indian parliament in 2004, one of his government’s first actions was to repeal the Prevention of Terrorist Activities Act.

This is the same time duration when India has declared food surpluses.

India, with 45 millions tonnes of unsold excess stock of grain, was bursting with stories waiting to be told. Most of them are still waiting.

35 percent of India's population is considered low-income and food-deficit. Approximately 50 percent of the world's hungry live in India.

When there is no food, so nutritional food is a dream and so is the health. Henceforth maximum pregnant women (aged 15 to 49 years) are malnourished and anemic. Anemia result in 20 percent of infant mortality. Half of the under five age of children are severely malnourished.

Indian Politicians yet not considerate about the hunger but they are about there votes. And as the past lay road, they walk on it and try keep getting attention raising such issues for their votes and not voters.

Hunger death cloud over Belpahari
Many reasons prevails for death in India but mainly they point aout there finger to :
-very high level of deprivation in the areas,
-extensive crop damage
-malnutrition
-inadequate income levels
-insufficient relief measures

Corruption is visible in all sections in India. Even if you want to work or donate to a NGO, you need to first investigate which NGO is fruitfully working. As many or say maximum of the NGO are created to Earn profit forgetting the real meaning of NGO. NGO is like a mushroom crop in India. Still so substantial work done.

When there are so many NGO's, so many politicians and about not less than a 100 news groups, how many have you found talking and really working on hunger!!

In Chhatisgarh, a tribal area, eat raw insects and many make grass chapatis as they can never afford the food which we eat daily.

What are the contributions by India Govt in this regard?

Which are the NGO's with real result in India?

How many people are now counted under "food-secured" ,since and if Indian govt has laid the plans?

Why is still there no commuting between many places?

Why food, medical services and other necessities still don't reach at the required places?

Why Media don't make this a prime issue?

Did you like it??

Was there any message in movie??

Has that affected Indians??

We can't say about "Hallo Bol" but Yes! after Rang De Basanti , many a times we have seen in news that people are reacting and protesting my lighting candle, whether it was Jessica Lal's case or recent Professor Sabarwal Case.

What about Halla Bol? It didn't leave any impact on anybody? Still people don't want to react if something wrong happens.

Is the reason that people "Don't Care" ? Or is the reason that Police treatment /punishment differ on your economic conditions.

If you are Rich or related to Politicians ,you are punished less or even if punished you get time and plan to escape where as a Normal Indian if caught, can't be rescued.

There is lot of corruption in Police Department.

First of all , Police should be freed from the Political Power.

Second step should be ,to increase pay scale for Police officials. A constable hardly earns money to run his family.

We have heard about Police groups, but do they really take care?? Do they provide necessary help when needed? Or is corruption there also?

If you have seen both the movies mentioned above, don't forget there lesson and also try to implement them. If you have not seen watch them and try to figure out, discuss it.

Lets make it a better place, better Country, not for others but for ourselves.

Lets oath to reduce Corruption.

If you can provide, please provide Police Welfare group, website, email and contact address.

It starts from Gangotri Glacier in Uttrakhand(one of the most beautiful state of India) from central Himalayas and feeds in to Bay of Bengal through deltas in Sunderban.

Its about one million square kilometers long. It plays a substantial role in economy of India and Bangladesh because of the fertile soil of Ganges Basin.

While traveling long way from her origin to Sunderban, Ganga collects lots of waste, namely:
-Human waste
-Bones and ashes
-Dead bodies
-60,000 persons ritually bathe daily in the Ganga
-Animal waste
-Chemicals
-Sewage
-Lot of Human created waste

Reasons can be many to add the waste. Result is the same these are added to Ganga.

Not to forget, many people have bath in it and many-many use the water for drinking purpose.
UN Climate report,2007, has reported that Gangotri Glacier will disappear by the year 2030 and then Ganga has to depend only on the seasonal monsoon rains.

As always, its not that India government is not thinking about it,they have come up with many suggestions and plans, still not implemented.

I even don't understand, when Ganga is a holy river - Why are chemicals and Sewage allowed in to it? and where are all highly reputed people who talks about Holy Ganga, when these things are done?

Ganga Action Plan or GAP was a project mainly began after the survey of situation in 1979 by Late Prime Minister Smt.Indira Gandhi. After five years of study Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) presented two reports.

Point to notice here is - CPCB took five long years just to present two reports, that too just for the plan to clean Ganga.

Then project began in December 1984 and after spending around Rs.907.71 crore in a span of 15yrs, this project is declared a major failure.

One of the reason is corruption. And second could be unawareness, which no one have thought about.

Here again point to think about is - It took Government (as project was 100% centrally sponsored scheme)
-15yrs , and
-Rs 907.71 crores
to declare it a failure??

Why 15yrs delay and why such a big expenditure on a project which has produced no result.

If Ganga was not cleaned , where did this Rs 907.71 crore went?? Who is responsible? Who is investigating for it??

And what are the real plans being taken for Ganga??

Media comes up with so many news...why has media yet not intervened in this matter and searched/inquired/investigated for GAP??
